VentureNet Iowa – Outreach Manager
VentureNet Iowa in Des Moines has an immediate opening for an outreach manager. Duties include but are not limited to managing application intake for the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s innovation funding programs including verification of applicant eligibility and application submission; consulting with and advising companies and resource providers about IEDA funding programs; coordinating assistance between resource providers and companies; conducting intake interviews of target companies to determine level of assistance required; maintaining record of communication with companies contacted and providing referrals to appropriate resource providers for companies that are not eligible for the IEDA innovation programs; establish and maintain relationships with service providers to offer concierge-like assistance to innovative technology companies; provide orientation to service providers regarding threshold requirements and application process for IEDA innovation funding; creation, organization, and maintenance of various databases; participate in VentureNet Iowa review panels and focus groups; attend relevant conferences and startup events.
Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
· Possess strong analytical and communication skills and be able to take input from many sources, analyze the information, and present concise, clear written communications
· Ability to prioritize and attend to multiple assignments with strong attention to detail and high standard of quality
· Demonstrated ability to work independently (and with minimal day-to-day supervision) while sharing ideas and information constantly with colleagues in a highly collaborative environment
· Establish and maintain positive working relationships with network resources and applicants
· Ability to inspire and elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources and stakeholders, including academic, commercial, and government
· Facility with software applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, databases, video conferencing, etc.)
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in business or management or a related field and experience equal to two years of full-time work that involved responsibility for managing and executing similar programs; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting one year of the above specialized experience for each year of the required education. Some travel throughout Iowa may be required. The full-time position will be housed in Des Moines with a hybrid work environment.
