VentureNet Iowa – Program Associate

VentureNet Iowa in Des Moines has an immediate opening for a Program Associate. Duties include but are not limited to assisting with application intake for the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s innovation funding programs; assisting with verification of applicant eligibility and application submission review; set-up and coordination of meetings, presentations, focus groups and conferences; maintaining record of communication with applicants and updating application, presentation, and board/committee materials; maintenance of program databases and digital program content; participation in VentureNet Iowa review panels and focus groups. Other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

• Possess strong analytical and communication skills and be able to take input from many sources, analyze the information, and present concise, clear written communications

• Ability to prioritize and attend to multiple assignments with strong attention to detail and a high standard of quality

• Demonstrated ability to work independently (and with minimal day-to-day supervision) while sharing ideas and information on a constant basis with colleagues in a highly collaborative environment

• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with network resources and applicants

• Ability to inspire and elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources and stakeholders, including academic, commercial and government

• Facility with software applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, databases, CRM, GoToMeeting etc.)

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in business or communications or a related field and experience equal to two years of full-time work that involved responsibility for managing and executing similar programs; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting one year of the above specialized experience for each year of the required education. Some travel throughout Iowa may be required. The position will be housed in Des Moines. Send cover letter and resume no later than April 5, 2019, to
